    Food composition table is a table that contains information about food and beverages and components it contains, such as nutrients, water content, ash content, and others. The information on the food composition table can be used to determine the consumption of food or nutrient intake required in the determination of nutrition labels, nutrition and health research, clinical practice such as nutrition / dietary consultation and food security. Thus table of food composition is needed by health sector, agriculture, and trade or industry. (Greenfield & Southgate 2003).

    The information on the food composition table should be valid in order to really be able to measure nutritional intake. The nutritional value in the table of food composition or the nutritional database of each foodstuff should be complete, and meet the applicable rules. Nutritional values can be derived from direct laboratory results and nutritional value estimates derived from published or unpublished literature. It is suggested that the data derived from the indirect method is minimal and is intended for food that is little consumed by the population (Schakel et al. 1997 and Greenfield & Southgate 2003).
