A Guidebook for the 59th National Nutrition Day Commemoration 2019
Health
development with the main investment in the development of Indonesia's human
resources will provide long-term and sustainable benefits. One of the most
important components in health development is fulfilling people's nutritional requirements,
especially during the First 1000 Days of Life. The period of pregnancy until
the child is 2 years old is a golden opportunity to create a generation that is
free from stunting and other nutritional problems. Interventions in this period
should not be ignored, because they determine the level of physical growth,
intelligence and productivity of an individual. Stunting and other nutritional
problems are a big threat to the country, because it will reduce the quality of
human resources in the future. Collaboration works between various stakeholders
need to be carried out according to their respective roles and functions by prioritising
commitment, campaigns, programme convergence, access to nutritious food and programme
monitoring. Furthermore, these efforts need to be in-line with the global food
system, through the application of a balanced nutrition pattern to achieve food
and nutrition security, health, agricultural and environmental development in
an integrated manner. The theme of National Nutrition Day is "Building
Nutrition Towards a Healthy and Highly Accomplished Nation" and the 2019
commemoration raises the sub-theme "A Nutrition-Aware Family, Healthy and
Productive Indonesia"
